8 Easy Transition Pieces for Spring

Spring may still seem far away, but February means the coldest months of winter are behind us! Time to start thinking about shedding those down blanket coats and heavy boots. Here are our 8 picks for the next few months till sweet sweet spring.

1) Grey/non-black Ankle Bootie: $68 (on sale!) Kelsi Dagger Brooklyn, Nordstrom Rack

Booties are both comfortable and stylish. With spring around the corner, switch out those salt encrusted winter boots for something with color. These neutral grey ones by Kelsi Dagger Brooklyn are incredible (no breaking in necessary).

2) Colored Jeans: $34 (also on sale!) Lucky Brand, Macy’s

Jeans are now synonymous with pants, so why not continue to add some color in anticipation of spring with some colored jeans?

3) Big honking cocktail rings: $3,300 vintage on RubyLane

Personally, one of the worst parts of winter is the necessity of wearing gloves. Can’t get used to the feeling plus it’s almost impossible to wear fun rings! This vintage cocktail ring is on the pricier side, but there are a lot of other affordable fun bling bling options (like this huge one, or this)

4) Cotton sweater: $80, J.Crew

Wool sweaters are the epitome of cozy, but can be hassle care-wise (oof dry cleaning…). As temperatures rise, start switching to some easy care cotton sweaters.

5) Short cotton mac jacket: $158, Banana Republic

A longer length classic trench is…well classic for spring and fall. But with colored jeans and ankle booties, a shorter jacket is in order, no? The better to show off those legs!

6) Light colored bag: mini Givenchy Antigona in mint (old)

The Givenchy Antigona is one of my favorite bags, it’s quality, shape, versatility, everything about it just works. The mini isn’t actually that small despite its name, which makes it perfect as a day bag. This mint green one is from a few seasons ago, but is still one of my favorite colors for spring.

7) Bright mirrored sunglasses: $190, Illesteva, Saks

Cool sunglasses are cool. That late winter sun can still be harsh so why not brighten up your day with a mirrored pair? Illesteva sunglasses are solid quality, we’ve been fans here since picking up a pair at a sample sale in NYC.

8) Cashmere/wool blend stole: $1,250 Gucci, Neiman Marcus

Let’s face it, the weather isn’t quite spring yet here in the northeast. Which means a wool-blend stole or large scarf can be a life saver when the mercury drops on a windy day. This floral stole from Gucci is a great fit for spring, I’ve seen very similar styles go for much less at stores like T.J. Maxx.

Happy soon-to-be-spring readers! What pieces are you most looking forward to liberating from your closet as the weather warms up?
