Let’s talk about one of the beauty world’s best kept secrets.
Costco.
There are some incredible deals to be gotten at Costco. I’m not talking about the actual warehouses, but Costco.com. I’ve seen some high end brands at amazing prices. Guerlain Rouge G lipsticks, Chanel moisturizers, Becca highlighters, Bobbi Brown lipsticks, Smashbox contouring palettes. They switch out inventory periodically – and each time they manage to get great deals for their members.
Here is a sample of the kinds of categories that they have:
They don’t have a huge selection. For example, generally they carry about 40 products in Fragrances, 40 in Makeup, 40 in Hair Care & Tools, and around 100 in Skin Care. The products that they do carry, however, often include very high-end brands that you would normally see in Sephora or high-end department stores. The prices for these products are unbelievable.
Here is a sample of the products (and their prices) available at the time of this post:
The Smashbox Contour kit, for example, retails for $45 on Sephora, the BECCA Shimmering Skin Perfector Pressed for $38.
Or take a look at these skin care prices.
The Estee Lauder Advanced Night Repair Serum (1.7 oz) retails for $92 at Sephora. That’s decent $22 savings!
Fragrance prices are similarly unbelievable. Shalimar Eau De Parfum 3 oz retails for $135 at Nordstrom.
Many of the online beauty products have free shipping included.
You do notice that many of these products have a “Member Only Item” tag listed below them. Herein is the caveat: while non-members can get access to many of the beauty products, the more deluxe brands require a Costco membership.
The lowest membership fee is $55, if you don’t have one already. This gives your whole family access to the warehouses and online site. Personally, my family already has one that we use for household goods fairly regularly. But even if you don’t have a membership yet or don’t even have a Costco near you, I think it’s still worth it to get as you can recoup the fee just through online beauty purchases and various discounted gift card purchases (restaurants, AMC, Regal).
